CHURCH COUNCIL - Generally meets on the third Monday at 7:00 p.m.

The Church Council’s primary duties include setting strategic direction for the church, overseeing the church’s governance and administration, and ensuring that MSUMC ministries accomplish the church’s purpose, vision, and plans. It establishes the budget on recommendation from the finance committee and the salaries of the pastor(s) and staff members on recommendation from pastor-parish relations. It monitors ministry progress and votes on important matters.

STAFF PARISH RELATIONS COMMITTEE - Generally meets on the fourth Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

The Staff Parish Committee acts as a liaison between staff, clergy, and the congregation. The committee reflects on staffing needs in order to fulfill our mission and on the role and work of our pastors and staff as they carry out their responsibilities. This committee creates job descriptions, hires staff, and sets salaries for the pastor and staff. They provide an annual evaluation of the pastor and other staff for ongoing effective ministry.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES - Generally meets on the fourth Monday at 6:00 p.m.

The Board of Trustees is charged with the oversight and maintenance of all church property, buildings, grounds, and equipment. It is also responsible for receiving and managing all gifts to MSUMC, so that the ministries of the congregation can be effective and local legal requirements related to property are satisfied.
